Underground Railroad - Colson Whitehead

Tonight we present Colson Whitehead reading from his Pulitzer Prize winning novel Underground Railroad published in 2016 The program was recorded in August 2017 at Canios Books, Sag Harbor. listen here Underground Railroad was published by Doubleday in 2016. The book won the 2016 National Book Award and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for fiction. Previous work by Colson Whitehead includes the novels The Intuitionist,      John Henry Days, Apex Hides the Hurt , Sag Harbor, and Zone One . His non-fiction work includes, The Colossus of New York and The Noble Hustle . 

Moby Dick Marathon Reading - Part 2

This June, the whaling town of Sag Harbor was once again the scene of a marathon reading of Herman Melville's Moby Dick.   Locals read from the work at locations around town. The Marathon was organized by Canio's Cultural Cafe in conjunction with local cultural  institutions, the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum, the John Jermain Memorial Library,  the Old Whaler's Church and the Eastville Historical Society.
