Antje Katcher - Catechism

Today we present the poetry of the late Antje Katcher with Paul Genega and friends reading from her posthumous collection Catechism . Ms. Katcher was born in Kiel, Germany in 1948 and emigrated to the U.S. in the 1960’s.   She lived in New York and in East Hampton. She died in 2014.     Katcher worked as a financial analyst and translator, while continuing to write poetry.   She served as an editor at New York Quarterly.   She was active in poetry reading circles in New York and Long Island and she founded Three Mile Harbor Press , which published the work of area poets. Ms. Katcher was also a committed political activist who served as co-chair of the South Fork  chapter of the Long Island Progressive Coalition and she was a stalwart silent protester with East End Women in Black.  Catechi sm was edited by Paul Gane ga and published in 2015 by Three Mile Harbor Press.   This reading of Catechism was recorded in June 2016 at Canios Book in Sag Harb
