Moby Dick Marathon 2017

This June, the whaling town of Sag Harbor was once again the scene of a marathon reading of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. Locals read from the work at locations around town including Canios Books.

The Marathon reading was organized by the non-profit Canios Cultural Cafe along with the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum, the John Jermain Memorial Library, the Old Whalers Church and the Eastville Historical Society where the readings took place.

We caught the start at Canios Books with actor Harris Yulin (Call me Ishmael) and the end with architect Bill Chaleff and the book store’s founder Canio Pavone.
